Colours in the Bible .....and their meaning... Gem Stones |
The colour
of Gem stones mentioned in the Bible can not only provide interest in
itself but as we read Paul speaks of a scriptural principle "first
that which is natural,
afterwards that which is spiritual." 1Cor 15:46 Thus the colours of
the various gem stones mentioned in the Bible can teach spiritual
lessons. Some stones mentioned are quite easy to identify, however
others are not so easy and there is some disagreement about exactly
which gem stones they are. The breastplate of the High Priest under the
Law of Moses was set with 12 gem stones laid out in 3 rows of 4 stones:
The first row
shall be a sardius, a topaz, and an emerald;
the second row shall be a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper
